An initial public stock offering (IPO) referred to simply as an "offering" or "flotation," is when a company issues common stock or shares to the public for the first time. They are often issued by smaller, younger companies seeking capital to expand, but can also be done by large privately-owned companies looking to become publicly traded.
When a company lists its shares on a public exchange, it will almost invariably look to issue additional new shares in order at the same time.
Benefits of being a public company-
• Bolster and diversify equity base
• Enable cheaper access to capital
• Exposure and prestige
• Attract and retain the best management and employees
• Facilitate acquisitions ---- (not important in our case)------
• Create multiple financing opportunities: equity, convertible debt, cheaper bank loans, etc.
So first we issue an IPO for 2 mining companies ( in which our company holds a controlling stake ) in all the major stock indices all across the world namely after a gap of 6 months each to gain capital.
This will all be done with major support from the respective governments and media blitiz.
An estimated amount of ___$ of starting capital will beraised from this.
Also for the parent company we will constitiute a Board of Directors representing all the major countries according to their financial contributions to the cause.Now there is no reason why these countries woud want to join in ,asa a result we need to do resource allocation based on their promised amounts.
The minimum amount would be 0.1% of their GDP.And the rest of the countries giving less than this amount will be grouped into 3 groups and will each be asked to nominate a common member to the Board of Directors.
Whether you buy into the IPO or not depends on what you think the company is worth. An IPO is a way for the public to determine what the company is worth (because it is the demand for shares that will drive the price up or down). Typically a company planning on going public will outsource the valuation process (i.e. determining how many shares should be offered and at what price) to an Investment Banking firm.
If share price goes up after IPO that is a good sign the I-Bank under valued the company, and if share price drops after IPO the I-Bank likely overvalued the company.
The value of the company goes up when it sells shares, because it has an inflow of money.
In some countries , the corporation pays state taxes based on the number of authorized shares multiplied times the share price (not the issued shares). So it can become very complex.
This is the process which I think we Should undertake for the initial /Starting capital.

We'll have to calculate the following:-
1. Centrifugal force acting on the inner surface of the settlement where the residents are residing.Force should be such that acceleration is always 9.8 m/s^2.
Centrifugal Force = Mass * Acceleration = Mass * 9.8 m/s^2
Click this to calculate centripetal force(note- centrifugal force is negative centripetal force)
2. Mass of the outer ring if Approx 21000 people are living in it.(21000 * Average weight of a man)+ extras
3. Radius of The Torus if it has to produce g and accommodate 21000 people in 5 square km of surface.
(so that circumference * diameter of cross-section is equal to 5 sq.km and the required acceleration for g is also reached)
4. Velocity with which it has to rotate, in order to produce g in relation to Radius.
We'll have to do this before anything else but the problem is that we have a lot of variables.We'll have to do it by trial and error so that each variable fits in everywhere and it is also economically viable(making the radius huge and the circular velocity less will be a loss because the more the radius the more the material needed.....)

Protection from radiations - READ THE WHOLE THING
We can use magnetosoheres to protect the space city from radiations
The existence of harmful radiation in space is one of the most significant obstacles to long stays in space. Some of this is in the form of very high energy particles arriving from deep space, but the greater concern, by virtue of its much larger flux, is the solar wind emitted continuously by the Sun. This magnetized plasma contains protons and alpha particles that can break up DNA and cause cancer.
So, we can try to generate a magnetized bubble of plasma (magnetosphere) surrounding the city created by the magnetic field of the station.
These would separate out the electrons and protons of the solar wind, generating a separation of charge in space that would deflect these particles away from the spacecity
It involves injecting a supersonic plasma into a 1.5 m long vacuum vessel lined with magnetic coils, with a target magnet placed at the far end of the vessel. Using both optical imaging and an electromagnetic probe, Bamford’s team (who have carried out the experiment) showed that the target magnet deflected the plasma such that the volume of space surrounding the magnet was almost entirely free of plasma particles
To generate a bubble of 100–200 m across a magnet of about 1 Tesla would be required.
