WATER CRISIS !!!

Studies show that the average per capita consumption of water per day is around 250L/day/person!!!
That amounts to about 1.22 million L of water per day for a space city of 20,000 residents.

I worked out that the cost of transporting this water from Earth would be Rs.3.05 X 10^12!!!!!!!!!

So there are THREE major problems::::
1) How to get that much water there???
2) How & where to store this large amt. of water???
3) How to get that much MONEY ????

And remember this is just the money to get water there. Just imagine the amount for people & construction materials ( at a rate of Rs. 25,00,000/kg)!!!!!

  1. Phobos is one of the least-reflective bodies in the solar system. Spectroscopically it appears to be similar to the D-type asteroids,[12] and is apparently of composition similar to carbonaceous chondrite material.

Several groups of carbonaceous chondrites, notably the CM and CI groups, contain high percentages (3% to 22%) of water,[2] as well as organic compounds.

We are really close to phobos orbit i.e 3000KM away.It has a escape velocity 40KM/H. Using a hohmann transfer orbit which has the least delta-v the transportation cost of water from phobos is negligible.

Only cost is purification of water and putting minerals in it.

Minerals in edible form can be taken from Earth which are really small in quantity.

I hope someone can build upon this and curb water problem.
